piggy bank: 恭喜發財!

恭喜發財！New Year Greetings which means "Congratulations and be prosperous!"

Take care of the pence, and the pounds will take care of themselves.  Now the piggy bank is needed!  So here we go.

小銭も山となれば大金に、ということで前からつくりたかったコブタ貯金箱。

Put the newspaper slips onto a balloon and dry them then put paper again, over and over.

風船に新聞紙を糊でひたすら貼ってはかわかす作業を繰り返します。

Paint with acrylic paints for finish.

アクリル絵の具を塗って完成！

This time I made an unexpected mistake (because I made it last "summer").  The balloon might puff up bigger when dried it in the sun, then next day I brought it into the room to paste another layer of the paper, it shrunk.... Differences of temperature caused the surface VERY rough.  Gee.

で、今回誤算がありました。これ去年の夏につくったんですけど、紙を貼った風船を屋外で乾かしたところ、あまりの暑さにかなり膨らんだようで、次の作業の際に部屋に持ち込んだとたん温度差のせいで中の風船がシューッとヘコみ、表面に貼った紙がでこぼこに…。部屋もそんなに涼しくなかったのになあ。
